Synopsis: Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough- talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul. (SOURCE)

I'm a huge fan of Black Dagger Brotherhood so when I realized that I hadn't read J.R. Wards new series I had to fix that. It was so fun seeing little appearances by characters I loved from BDB as well as getting to see the 'other side' of Caldwell.

Covet begins with Jim, a construction worker that keeps to himself and seems to have some hidden secrets. While on a job he is hurt and things begin to get interesting from there. He's visited by a group of mysterious men that turn his world upside down.

It is Jim's mission to help Vin, the man whose massive house he was helping to build. Little does Jim know, it's not just Vin's soul he's trying to save. The two become friends. One night Jim goes out with Vin and his girlfriend, Devina. When Vin sets eyes on one of the girls working in the club he realizes that maybe Devina isn't what he wants. He becomes determined to get close to Marie-Terese, who we saw a little in BDB. She has secrets of her own that she's trying to run from.

Shortly after, Jim realizes that he's not there to help Vin with his relationship with Devina, as he'd originally thought. He's there to help Vin realize he's destined for more and destined for someone else.

Vin's supernatural twist really surprised me but I found it interesting. I wasn't expecting the book to end the way it did but I can't complain. I enjoyed it over all and am curious to see what else comes for the series.
